Love
(from Ben Gunn’s poem - 1893)
You need not speak of love to me
As if I never felt its might;
For every heart-throb beats for thee
Day after day, night
After night.
My love for you is a raging fire
The flames run wildly through my brain
And it’s return I cherish higher
Than all the riches man can gain
Sweet words, my love can never show
All the passion and the bliss
Oh, to hear them so soft and low
And meet your sweet lips
In a kiss.
My love for you is a raging fire
The flames run wildly through my brain
And it’s return I cherish higher
Than all the riches man can gain
My Love for you is a raging fire.
